Term 1, Week 4

On Monday we designed bunting and posters for Macmillan Coffee Morning. The Kidsizers drew some super fun designs like Superhero coffee cups and delicious cupcakes. The Macmillan Coffee Morning will be held at the Kingswells Community Centre on the 28th September and money raised will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
We had lots of parachute fun on Tuesday. We played games like fruit salad and Chinese whispers. Parachute play encourages group play and we LOVE it at Kidsize.
Yet again we had a sunny Wednesday! This was our first outdoor play with the Primary 1's. They loved it and it was great seeing them work along the older children to create positive play. They played on the equipment safely and cooperatively.
On Thursday we continued with our second week of Badminton. This included teaching the new primary 1's their initial skills while the older children progressed with learning to hit back and forth as well as hitting the shuttlecock harder.
We completed homework on Friday, the primary 1's were learning letter sounds and some primary 2's were doing spelling. Jenna helped them with their homework. We focussed on free play on Friday, this includes: reading, lego, dolls, board games, toys and movie corner.
Our free play choices are available every day. Although we encourage joining in the activity, the children can choose to free play instead if they wish.
